Terms of Service

Last updated July 22, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Reqoia, a staff-side toolkit for Texas Public Information Act (PIA) workflows (the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

1. Use of the Service

You may use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms and your organization’s policies. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.

2. Recommendations, not legal advice

Reqoia produces statute-anchored recommendations to assist human reviewers. The Service does not auto-redact or auto-respond, and its output does not constitute legal advice. All decisions regarding the disclosure, withholding, or redaction of public information remain the responsibility of your organization and its authorized personnel.

3. Your content

You retain all rights to the requests, documents, and other content you submit to the Service (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display Your Content solely to provide and improve the Service. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit Your Content.

4. Acceptable use

  • Do not misuse the Service, interfere with its operation, or attempt to access it using a method other than the interfaces we provide.
  • Do not upload malicious code or content that infringes the rights of others.
  • Do not use the Service to violate any applicable law or regulation.

5. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, and content (excluding Your Content), is owned by Reqoia and its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to our trademarks or branding.

6. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Reqoia will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service if you violate these Terms or if necessary to protect the Service or its users. You may stop using the Service at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
